Andrew Jackson

Deputy Director, Environment Strategy

Andrew Jackson is an experienced public sector professional currently serving as Deputy Director of Environment Strategy at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since April 2017, and previously held the role of Head of the Joint Air Quality Unit. Prior roles include Head of Unit at the UK Home Office from November 2009 to April 2017, and Head of Border Policy from October 2008 to November 2009. Earlier experience includes serving as Policy Manager at the UK Home Office from 2001 to 2008, and a stagiaire position at the European Commission in 2001-2002. Andrew Jackson began a career in politics as a researcher for the Liberal Democrats covering Education and Home Affairs from 1999 to 2000. Educational qualifications include a MA in Political & Legal Theory from UCL and a BA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Leicester.
