Caryl Williams is a seasoned researcher and strategist specializing in forestry and environmental policies. They are currently the Lead for Research and Strategy in Forestry Policy at the Welsh Government and serve as the Social Science Lead at Defra, focusing on animal health. Caryl has previously held roles such as Social Researcher at both the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Energy and Climate Change, as well as Head of Evidence Governance and Coordination for the Environment and Rural Affairs at the Welsh Government. They earned their MRes in Anthropology, Environment, and Development from University College London and a BSc in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Cambridge.
