Farah Chaudry currently serves as Head of Marine CBD & 30by30 at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, leading the Marine Convention on Biological Diversity team and the International Marine Environment Division since April 2020. Previously, Farah held the position of Senior Policy Advisor focusing on marine policy within the Convention for Biological Diversity. Farah's earlier experience includes roles at JNCC as Senior Marine Mammal Advisor, leading conservation efforts for marine mammals, and as Team Leader at Natural England overseeing the Suffolk Coast and Marine area. Additional roles include Principal Consultant at Marine Planning Consultants Ltd, and Environmental Report Manager and Senior Environmental Report Writer at Gardline Environmental Ltd, where Farah managed environmental assessments across various offshore industries. Farah began the career in research roles, including with the Ballina Whale Research Project in Australia and the Kewalo Basin Marine Mammal Laboratory. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Marine Mammal Science from Bangor University and a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from Aberystwyth University.
