Liam Walsh currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer (Interim) and Chief Architect at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs since January 2022. Previous experience includes the role of Head of Solutions Architecture at IAG GBS from January 2019 to January 2022, overseeing Enterprise and Solution Architecture for an airline group's digital channels. Liam's extensive career at the International Airlines Group (IAG) from October 2000 to January 2022 involved various positions, including Principal Engineer and Senior Technical Architect, where technical leadership was provided for key projects like ba.com and iberia.com. Earlier roles at IAG included Technical Design Lead and Project Manager, with a notable project recognizing the "ePay" system. Prior to IAG, Liam worked as an Analyst Programmer at Northumbria Police from July 1998 to October 2000. Education was completed at Newcastle University between 1993 and 1997.
