Allister Bridger is the Director of Flight Operations at [British Airways](/org/british-airways). Allister has over 25 years of experience as a pilot, including time with the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Air 2000. 

Allister joined the RAF in 1985 and became a fast jet pilot, flying F4 Phantoms and BAE Hawks. Allister was also an instructor during their time with the RAF. In 1995, they left the RAF to join Air 2000, where they flew Boeing 757s on charter flights throughout Europe and North Africa. 

Allister has been with [British Airways](/org/british-airways) since 1997 and has held various positions within the company, including Director of Flight Operations. Allister is a highly experienced pilot with a passion for aviation.

Rene de Groot is the COO of [British Airways](/org/british-airways). Rene has previously held the position of Managing Director at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from April 2015 to October 2022. From January 2012 to December 2014, they were the Senior Vice President Operations at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Rene has also been a Captain at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from February 2010 to December 2011 and from November 1996 to January 2010. Rene de Groot has also been a First Officer at KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from March 1993 to October 1996 and from May 1992 to February 1993. Rene has also been a board member at VNV Vereniging van Nederlandse Verkeersvliegers from January 1999 to April 2005.

Jason Mahoney is currently CTO of [British Airways](/org/british-airways). Jason Mahoney began his career at [British Airways](/org/british-airways) as an Engineering Apprentice back in 1989 and held various positions until departing in 2008 to become Director of Engineering at British Midland International. Soon after his appointment bmi was purchased by [Lufthansa](/org/lufthansa) and the engineering division continued to operate autonomously, managing its own fleet maintenance. Mahoney was appointed Director of Engineering and Maintenance of [TUI Group](/org/tui-uk) in 2014, charged with uniting the group’s five independent engineering and maintenance establishments – to create one pan-European organization. He rejoined [British Airways](/org/british-airways) at the end of 2016 as Director of Engineering with responsibility for the Part 145 organization.

Alex is the interim Chairman of the British Airways board. After a transition period, Sean Doyle will become the Chairman. 

Previously Alex was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of British Airways starting in April 2016.

In 2006 he founded Clickair. As CEO, Alex drove the airline’s fast European growth, culminating in the 2009 merger with Vueling, turning the new Vueling into one of the most profitable airlines in Europe.

From 2000 to 2006, he was a partner at Arthur D. Little and later in Accenture as its head of aviation. As a consultant, Alex has directed projects with airlines and travel industry companies around the world. Alex began his professional career at American Airlines working in Dallas improving their ground operations at its hub airports. The last five years of his 10-year AMR career were in London, delivering solutions to airlines within The Sabre Group.

Alex is from Bilbao, Spain, has a BS (Central Michigan), MSc degree (Ohio State) in industrial engineering, and a graduate Business Management and Administration degree from the Cox School of Business in Dallas.

Sean Doyle was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of British Airways with effect from 12 October 2020. Previously Sean was Chief Executive Officer and executive director of Aer Lingus. Prior to his role at Aer Lingus Sean served as Director of Network and Alliances at British Airways, and a member of the Management Committee since 2016. In addition to overseeing Network and Alliances, Sean has acted as Chairman of BA's London City subsidiary BA CityFlyer and oversaw the airlines operations at London Gatwick. Prior to this, Sean was Executive Vice President Americas from 2013 to 2015, overseeing BA's commercial business in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Sean joined British Airways in 1998 and qualified as a Management Accountant (ACMA). He has undertaken various financial, strategy, and alliance roles. He is a graduate of University College Cork and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
