Shehab Choudhury

Shehab Choudhury currently serves as the DRS Team Leader at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, overseeing strategic stakeholder engagement and scheme delivery for the Deposit Return Scheme since August 2022. Previously, Choudhury held significant roles at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, including leading non-domestic engagement for the Smart Metering Implementation Programme and serving as a Senior Policy Advisor focused on industrial decarbonisation. Early career experience includes positions at Hertfordshire County Council, Stevenage Borough Council, and NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group, where Choudhury contributed to project management and policy development. Academic qualifications comprise a Master’s in Leadership and Management in Public Services and a Master’s in Sustainability and Management, complemented by a Bachelor's in Geography from Royal Holloway, University of London.
