Masashi Motohashi

Masashi Motohashi is an experienced financial professional currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at Degas since January 2024, where the focus is on enhancing the lives of smallholder farmers in developing countries through innovative financing solutions. Prior to this role, Masashi worked as the Corporate Finance & Strategy Manager at Komaza, Kenya's largest forestry company, from January 2021 to December 2023, specializing in sustainable timber production and carbon credit generation. Masashi's extensive background includes positions at FAO, Mitsubishi Corporation, J.P. Morgan, Crowd Securities Japan, and JLL, encompassing various finance and investment roles. Academically, Masashi holds a Master of Science in Development Economics with Distinction from SOAS University of London and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Macalester College, complemented by an International Baccalaureate and participation in an exchange program at Leiden University College.
