Sherrie Houst

Release Manager at Degreed

Sherrie Houst has over 20 years of work experience, starting with their role as a Retail Accounting Clerk at Albertsons in 1976. Sherrie later worked as a Sr Payroll Clerk, Business Analyst, Supervisor, Trainer, and Helpdesk Lead. In 1992, they transitioned to the role of a Programmer II, where they worked as a UNIX developer and project lead on Kronos Time and Attendance and on-line Jobs. Sherrie was responsible for documentation, development of Unix shell scripts, and MicroFocus COBOL programs.

In 2000, Sherrie joined ADP as a Business Systems Analyst, providing Level 4 support for Kronos Time and Attendance Systems. Sherrie also worked as a Senior Requirements Analyst, responsible for gathering and creating client requirement documents, vision statements, use cases, and test case scenarios. Sherrie closely collaborated with clients, project managers, and developers for system development.

From 2006 to 2009, Sherrie worked as an Implementation Consultant II at ADP National Account Services.

Sherrie returned to ADP in 2009 and held various roles including Implementation Consultant III/Lead Discovery Analyst, Implementation Consultant IV, and Domain Manager. In these roles, they were involved in implementing ADP Vantage HCM solution, specifically focusing on benefits, HR/PR touchpoints, and new HCM product offerings. Sherrie worked on multiple projects, assisted clients with benefit implementation and online enrollment system, and served as a mentor to other benefit implementation consultants.

Currently, Sherrie is working at Degreed as a QA Engineer, responsible for ensuring the quality of the company's software products. Sherrie has also served as a Release Manager since December 2020.

Sherrie Houst attended Boise State University from 1978 to 1982, where they studied Business Administration and Management, General, as well as Business Administration, Management and Operations. Sherrie did not obtain a degree during their time at the university. In terms of additional certifications, Sherrie obtained several certifications from LinkedIn, including Leveraging Generative AI for Project Management, Learning the OWASP Top 10, Get Ready for Generative AI, Introduction to Conversational AI, Introduction to Prompt Engineering for Generative AI, Learning Kubernetes (2018), Rediscovering Your Joy, Energy, and Purpose, Articulating Your Value, DevOps Foundations, DevOps Foundations: Site Reliability Engineering, How to Crush Self-Doubt and Build Self-Confidence, Business Analysis for Project Managers, Concept Visualization, Git from Scratch, How to Train Your Brain For Happiness, Nano Tips for Communicating with Confidence with Selena Rezvani, Project Management Foundations: Requirements, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and Project Management Foundations: Quality. The certifications were obtained between 2022 and 2023.
