Valerie Tawakkoli

Valerie Tawakkoli has a strong background in procurement and management. Valerie currently holds the position of Vice President Indirect Procurement at Deichmann, starting in August 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Strategic Procurement/ Indirect Procurement at Peek & Cloppenburg KG Düsseldorf starting in 2021. Valerie also held the role of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Deloitte from 2017 to 2019. Valerie has extensive experience in executive roles, including Chief Operating Officer (COO) at McKinsey & Company CIS from 2014 to 2017 and Managing Director at MGA METRO GROUP Advertising Rus in Moscow from 2008 to 2014. Additionally, they worked at METRO/MAKRO Cash and Carry in various roles, including Head of International Own Brand Management Food, Department Manager International Procurement, and Marketing Manager, Marketing and Corporate Development, from 2000 to 2007. Valerie started their career as a District Manager at Aldi GmbH & Co. KG Berlin from 1998 to 2000.

Valerie Tawakkoli completed their Diplom-Kauffrau degree from the European Business School (ebs) in Oestrich-Winkel from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that, they obtained their Abitur (mention bilingue) from Burgau-Gymnasium in Dueren between 1984 and 1992.
