Senior Application Security Engineer at Deimos

Azunna Ikonne has a diverse work experience in the field of information security and technology. Azunna is currently working at Deimos as a Senior Application Security Engineer, where they are involved in designing and building secure software solutions and performing security assessments. Before that, they worked at Carbon as an Information Security Analyst, where they collaborated with the infrastructure and software engineering teams to implement security measures and conduct audits. Azunna also gained experience working at NHS Grampian as an IT Security Placement Student, reviewing medical devices for a thesis project, and at FTP Consulting Nigeria Ltd as a Training Consultant, providing IT staff training on network routing and switching. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Intern at APT Pensions Funds Managers, processing payments and providing IT support, and as part of their industrial training at Transmission Company of Nigeria PLC, they conducted maintenance and repairs on substation equipment.

Azunna Ikonne completed a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Robert Gordon University from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2016, Azunna obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University. In addition to formal education, Azunna also obtained various certifications including CompTIA Security+, Understanding of Cisco Network Devices, Diploma in Leadership Development from African Leadership Development Centre, CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation, Professional Cloud Security Engineer from Google Cloud, AWS Certified Security - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS), and another Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification from Google Career Certificates.
