Garrett Pierson is a Robotics and Control Systems Engineer at DEKA Research & Development, with experience as a Robotics Engineer Intern at Stratom, Inc., and as a Research Assistant in the HIRO Robotics Group at the University of Colorado Boulder. During the research assistant role, Garrett developed software using the ROS kinetic framework for controlling the Sawyer robotic arm and worked on a tactile feedback membrane project to enhance robotic sensing capabilities. Additionally, Garrett served as a Matlab/C++ Course Assistant, providing support to students in coding and reinforcing programming fundamentals. Garrett holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, obtained in 2021.
