Desen Basaran is an Operations Support Specialist at the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) since June 2022, where responsibilities include imaging computers, setting up hardware, building virtual machines, and troubleshooting software issues. Desen served as a Youth Leadership Council Representative for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), participating in community service and addressing cooperative boards. Experience also includes involvement with Girls Who Code, completing cybersecurity and data science tracks. Desen represented Delaware during the NRECA Youth Tour in Washington D.C. Desen is currently pursuing a degree at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 2024.
