Information Security Manager at Delaware Electric Cooperative

Ben Galvacky, CISSP, GICSP has over 14 years of experience in Information Technology. Ben began their career in 2006 as the IT Director for Jefferson, Urian, Doane & Sterner, PA, where they were solely responsible for maintaining the Information Systems and network for a multiple site accounting environment. In 2013, they became an Adjunct Instructor at Delaware Technical Community College, teaching CIS192-251 Network Tech & Admin (Microsoft) and serving on the Computer Information Systems advisory board. In 2014, they became the IT Manager / Lab Software Specialist for the Blood Bank of Delmarva, where they were responsible for IT operations across sites in DE, MD & PA, over 30 mobile sites, 200+ employees and IT staff. Ben was also the IT Project Leader to implement the first automated laboratory track system, LIMS and Instrument Management solution in the world used in Blood Banking. In 2016, they returned to Delaware Technical Community College as an Adjunct Instructor, teaching CNE216-251 Open Source Server Admin and CNE284-251 Cloud Computing. In 2018, they became the Director of Information Technology for Baird Mandalas Brockstedt LLC. Currently, they are the Information Security Manager and Cyber Security Engineer for Delaware Electric Cooperative, Inc. and an Adjunct Instructor at Delaware Technical Community College, teaching ITN200 - System Administration.

Ben Galvacky, CISSP, GICSP has a Bachelor of Science in Information Resources Management - Technical from Wilmington University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2008. Ben also has an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems from Delaware Technical Community College, which they obtained from 2004 to 2006. In addition, they hold several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)2 in 2017, GIAC Advisory Board from GIAC Certifications in 2020, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) from GIAC Certifications in 2020, SOC 1 Analyst from CREST in 2021, SOC Analyst 1 - Elite (Practical, hands-on) from CREST in 2021, Private Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration, and Technician Class Amateur Radio License from the Federal Communications Commission.
