Kerry Wilson is the Habitat Outreach Manager at Delaware Nature Society. Kerry previously served as the Director of Outdoor Education and a STEM Teacher at St. Anne's Episcopal School from January 2015 to August 2021. In this role, they led the development and vertical alignment of the STEM, Nature-based, and computer science programs for preschool through 4th grade based on Next Generation Science standards. Kerry also collaborated on the development of the middle school STEM program, developed and implemented STEM and computer science curriculum, and co-chaired the STEAM curricular committee.
Wilson is passionate about hands-on learning and helping students become thinkers, problem solvers, and community learners. Kerry has facilitated numerous hands-on learning projects with students, coordinated projects with classroom teachers, and incorporated technology into the curriculum as a tool for learning. Kerry has also encouraged opportunities for students to learn through failure in STEM challenges and guided students through the engineering design process. In addition to their teaching duties, Wilson has also managed the STEM budget, inventory, and equipment, and developed curriculum to teach coding.
In addition to their work at St. Anne's, Wilson has also launched and facilitated the Girls Who Code program for middle school students at St. Anne's and surrounding areas. Kerry has aided in fundraising efforts for the STEM and nature-based programs through planning and hosting STEM events. Kerry Wilson has a Master of Science in Marine Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Drexel University. Kerry also has a certification from edX in Foundations for Teaching and Learning About Native Americans.
