Laura Schumacher is an experienced environmental educator with a diverse background in natural resource management and customer service. Currently serving as an Environmental Educator at Delaware Nature Society Inc since September 2022, Laura leads various environmental education programs for schools and groups. Prior to this, Laura worked as a Park Naturalist at the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, developing programs on coastal ecology and presenting to diverse audiences. Laura’s previous roles include an Ornithological Biologist focused on shorebird research, several positions related to customer service, and multiple educational roles during time at Juniata College, where research on the impact of invasive species was conducted. Laura holds a degree from Juniata College and has extensive hands-on experience in environmental education, research, and community engagement.
