Marlena Gibson

Marlena Gibson has a diverse work experience, starting in 2003 as a Social Housing Specialist at the Delaware Housing Coalition. Marlena then transitioned to the Delaware State Housing Authority in 2007, where they held various roles, including Senior Planner/Policy Analyst and Director of Policy and Planning. In these positions, they managed projects, conducted studies, and oversaw policy development. Notably, Marlena also led a significant program for COVID-19 emergency rental assistance and eviction prevention, successfully managing operational challenges. Currently, Marlena is serving as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Director of Financial Analysis at Delaware State University.

Marlena Gibson holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Policy Practice and Advocacy from the Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, which they obtained from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in German Studies at Swarthmore College from 1997 to 2001.
