Charles Starr

Charles Starr, PhD, currently serves as a Senior Data Scientist at Delfi Diagnostics since April 2023. Previously, Charles was a Doctoral Student at Stanford University from September 2015 to June 2022, where research focused on the mechanical properties of DNA leveraging single-molecule manipulation and coarse-grained polymer modeling. Charles gained experience at Illumina as a Product Development Intern, contributing to the development of quality control procedures for the BeadChip microarray platform. Other roles included Quantitative Developer at Picofemto LLC, Research Assistant in the Kim Group at Columbia University, and Research Intern at JPL. Charles holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stanford University and a B.S. in Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics from Columbia Engineering. Recognitions include being an Intel Science Talent Search Semifinalist and Siemens Competition Semifinalist.
