Bernard Dam is a Full Professor in Chemistry at Delft University of Technology since January 2009, serving as the chair of the department of chemical engineering and holding roles such as counselor for scientific integrity at TU Delft and member of the Chemistry advisory table ENW/NWO. Prior to this, Bernard was an Associate Professor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam from May 1992 to January 2009, focusing on research areas including HTc-Superconductivity and Hydrogen Storage, while also co-founding the Bachelor program 'Science, Business and Innovation'. Bernard's early career included work as a researcher at Philips Research Laboratories from April 1986 to May 1992, specializing in the growth and properties of metallic and superconducting thin films. Educationally, Bernard earned a PhD and Drs in Physical Chemistry from Radboud University, complemented by a Gymnasium Beta degree from Thorbecke Scholengemeenschap Arnhem.
