Delineate Studio
Delineate Studio's work brings craftsmanship through a deliberate and personal approach to each project. To achieve simple, yet timeless and meaningful design solutions, the firm's work wrestles with complex and technical design explorations. We solve design problems while seeking to bring surprise and delight in each architectural project. Delineate Studio is a full-service architecture and urban design firm specializing in multifamily, custom residential, commercial tenant improvement, and mixed-use projects. In addition to performing design services, we represent the client through a building process that involves contractors, engineering consultants, governmental agencies, and building codes. Our design excellence, holistic approach, and technical knowledge brings value to building projects. Recent notable projects include the Fourth& Mixed-use, the Riley downtown Austin, Suerte Restaurant, and The Yard. In our collaboration entity, TB-DS, we are watching construction of 901 E. 6th Street Offices, which will be the first commercial use of cross laminated timber in Texas. Delineate Studio was founded by Bart Whatley in 2009. Bart brings clients over 20 years of design experience in both architecture and urban design. With a Masters Degree in Architecture, Bart started his career with higher education, corporate and adaptive re-use projects. He has hospitality experience serving as the project design lead on a number of projects in the Lake Tahoe area, including the Heavenly Ski Resort Gondola Top Station Lodge and the Resort at Squaw Creek Spa. While practicing in Austin, Bart has been a project architect on a number of multifamily projects, including 2124 East 6th Mixed Use and the Sage Townhomes. Bart stays involved with community design issues through current & past roles on the Austin Design Commission, the Austin Downtown Commission, the Central Austin Combined Neighborhood Plan Contact Team, and the AIA Austin Board.
