Derek Longsmith has extensive experience in project and account management within various organizations. Starting as a Project Manager at Leeds City Council from 2004 to 2007, Longsmith progressed to Haringey Council as a Development Manager from 2007 to 2009. Following this, Longsmith served as a Project Manager at City & Guilds from April 2009 to January 2011, focusing on SAP upgrade project management and transition management for ERP, CRM, BW, and PI systems. From January 2011 to October 2020, Longsmith held the position of Head of Automotive & Technology at Keytree, overseeing solution delivery and project management. In 2025, Longsmith advanced to a leadership role as Partner and Director at Deloitte. Longsmith completed education at Newcastle University from 1999 to 2003.
