Schalk Human

Schalk Human, PhD, is an Associate Director and Senior Manager at Deloitte, with over a decade of experience in credit risk modeling specializing in Basel and IFRS 9 standards. They have a strong background in managing and leading teams, along with a commitment to coaching and mentoring within communities. Schalk has published 25 articles in international peer-reviewed journals and actively supervises doctoral and master's students. They hold a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Mathematical Statistics, both earned with honors, and continue to engage with the academic community as an Extraordinary Senior Lecturer at Stellenbosch University. Outside of their professional pursuits, Schalk enjoys cycling, chess, and popular psychology.
