Magnus Orrell

Magnus Orrell is a Managing Director at Deloitte, where they help teams and clients navigate complex accounting issues while leading the development of interpretive accounting guidance, particularly concerning financial instruments under U.S. GAAP and IFRS. As Co-Leader of Deloitte's U.S. IFRS Center of Excellence and a member of the global IFRS Leadership Team, Magnus specializes in accounting for derivatives, debt, and various financial transactions. Before joining Deloitte in 2003, Magnus held significant roles at various international financial institutions, including the International Accounting Standards Board and the European Commission. They have authored numerous publications and co-authored an accounting textbook that achieved worldwide sales of around 15,000 copies.
