Charles Zhu (Ph.D.) has a diverse work experience in the automotive industry. Charles started their career as a Senior Engineer at Ecostar Electric Drive Systems, where they developed a bi-directional isolated DC/DC converter for a Daimler fuel cell vehicle. Charles also holds a patent for a novel converter topology. Charles then worked as a Principal Engineer at Ballard Power Systems, leading the design of power modules for electric vehicles. At Continental, they served as an Engineering Manager, overseeing the development of DC/DC converter platforms for xEV programs. Charles successfully secured a $103 million HEV program from GM. Zhu later joined Lear Corporation as an Engineering Supervisor, where they led a team in solving PV failures for the Chevy Volt on-board charger module. Currently, they are working as the Vice President and Head of Automotive at Delta Electronics (Americas), responsible for managing operations and growing Delta's automotive business. Charles has also served as the Director and Engineering Director at Delta Electronics, where they established strategic partnerships, expanded sales and program teams, and secured funding for advanced product development in EV applications.

Charles Zhu (Ph. D.) completed their Ph. D. in Power Electronics from Tsinghua University between 1994 and 1997. Charles then pursued a Post Doctoral Fellowship in Power Electronics at Virginia Tech from 1997 to 1999. Later, they obtained a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2008.
