Ankie Bruens is currently the Research & Customer Manager at Deltares, where Ankie also serves as the Department head for 'Ecosystems & Sediment Dynamics' and as a Senior advisor in coastal management. Prior to this, Ankie worked as an Advisor in coastal management at Rijkswaterstaat RIKZ from 2002 to 2006. Ankie completed their PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Fluid mechanics at Technische Universiteit Delft in 2002. Ankie also has a Master's degree in Fysische Geografie from Utrecht University and completed their undergraduate studies at Isala College. Additionally, Ankie worked as a Research Assistant at Coventry University from 1996 to 1997.
