Margreet van Marle is an experienced professional specializing in wildfires, natural hazard resilience, and the impacts of climate change on infrastructure. Currently serving at Deltares since April 2017, Margreet employs earth observation and remote sensing techniques in their work. Margreet completed a PhD at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from June 2012 to November 2016, focusing on deforestation, wildfire, and climate, utilizing satellite observations and proxy data for research. Prior roles include teaching Physics to secondary school students and advising on career plans at Sint Nicolaas-lyceum, as well as experience in public relations. Margreet holds a Master’s degree in Hydrology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, both from VU Amsterdam.
