Nienke Vermeer

Nienke Vermeer is a Junior Researcher in Coastal Morphodynamics at Deltares, focusing on the morphology of the Dutch coast to enhance coastal management and address sediment losses. Nienke also serves as a Board member and Treasurer of the Young NCK, contributing to the Netherlands Centre for Coastal Research, and holds the position of Programme Secretary, overseeing the daily operations of this cooperative network. Previous experience includes an internship at Royal HaskoningDHV, focusing on foreshore environments, and various teaching assistant roles at Utrecht University, specializing in coastal and geoscientific modules. Nienke Vermeer earned a Master's degree in Earth Surface & Water and a Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences, both from Utrecht University, after completing secondary education at Stedelijk Gymnasium Leiden.
