Wouter Kranenburg

Wouter Kranenburg is an expert in environmental hydrodynamics, specializing in estuaries and lakes, with a focus on salinity intrusion processes, prediction, and prevention. They served as an Assistant Professor of Environmental Fluid Mechanics at Technische Universiteit Delft since 2021 and contributed as a Senior Researcher/Advisor at Deltares, where they worked on salinity intrusion and freshwater availability. Wouter's academic journey includes a PhD in Water Engineering and Management from Twente University, along with a cum laude MSc in Hydraulic Engineering from Delft University of Technology. Their past experiences include postdoctoral research at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and a visiting PhD student role at the University of Delaware.
