Andres Blanco Torrell is an Offshore Methods Engineer at DEME Group, having joined in January 2023. Prior experience includes a Master Thesis Project at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) focused on improving the resilience of harbors in developing countries and a role as a Research Associate in Steel and Hybrid Constructions at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, where responsibilities included literature research and 3D printing for structural rehabilitation. Additionally, Torrell served as a Teaching Assistant Professor in Structural Analysis for a brief period, supporting graduate students and faculty in the Finite Element Methods course. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Natural Hazards and Risks in Structural Engineering from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the University of Strathclyde.
