Marvin Smit

Marvin Smit is a skilled Marine Engineer currently working as a Third Engineer at DEME Group since August 2023. Prior experience includes serving as a Schipper at MooiWeer Terschelling, where operations involved transporting tourists to seal colonies from April 2022 to August 2023. Marvin completed a six-week ETO final internship aboard the Innovation in May 2023 before graduating from the Maritime Institute Willem Barentsz. Additional internships were undertaken with Amasus, including five months each on the Jaguar and the Rotra Mare, focusing on marine transport of windmill components. Previous roles also include kitchen assistance at Frits Snacks Terschelling and as an all-round staff member at Jongeren camping Appelhof Terschelling. Marvin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Officer and Marine Engineering from NHL Stenden, obtained between August 2020 and June 2023, after completing education at Nova College IJmuiden from 2016 to 2020.
