Robrecht Makelberge

Robrecht Makelberge currently holds the position of 2nd Mate Trainee at DEME Group, a role undertaken since April 2022, following a brief stint as a Cadet with the same company in July 2021. Previous experience includes serving as a Lifeguard with IKWV - Intercommunale Kustreddingsdienst West-Vlaanderen from August 2015 to July 2021 and as a Lifeguard with VVW Inside-Outside between 2015 and September 2019. Additionally, Robrecht gained cadet experience on the bunkering tanker Mts Mozart with Malmy Shipping in April 2021 and completed a deck cadet internship on the Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger 'Victor Horta'. Robrecht is pursuing a Master's degree in Nautical Science at Antwerp Maritime Academy, with an educational background from K.A. Pegasus Oostende from September 2009 to June 2015.
