Caroline Scates currently serves as the Deputy Director for Admiral Nurse Development at Dementia UK, a position held since September 2016, and also functions as the Admiral Nurse Professional & Practice Development Facilitator. Prior to this role, Caroline was the Head of Education at Saint Francis Hospice from January 2006 to September 2016. Caroline's educational background includes a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Dundee (2015-2018) and a Bachelor of Nursing with a focus on Palliative Care from the same institution. Additionally, Caroline completed the Emerging Leaders Scholarship in Nursing through the Florence Nightingale Foundation from April 2020 to September 2021.

Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them. They give the one-to-one support, guidance and practical solutions people need, and that can be hard to find elsewhere. Admiral Nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK.
