Katherine Perez

Katherine Perez is an experienced educational leader with a robust background in various roles within the field of education. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Elementary Schools at Democracy Prep Public Schools since 2016, Katherine has a history of leadership as a Founding Principal, Principal, and Assistant Principal within the same organization. Prior roles include Instructional Fellow at Uncommon Schools and Lower Academy Director, Teacher, and Grade Level Chair at Democracy Prep Public Schools. Katherine has also held positions at BES as Leader of Emerging Networks of Schools and as a Corps Member with Teach For America. Early experience includes teaching at Harlem Day Elementary School. Katherine holds a Master of Arts in Education as a Literacy Specialist from Teachers College, Columbia University, and has completed additional fellowships and degrees in education leadership from various esteemed institutions, including Relay Graduate School of Education and Hunter College.
