Sarah Gonsalves

Sarah Gonsalves is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in special education and instructional management. Currently serving as the High School Special Education Instructional Manager at Democracy Prep Public Schools since September 2019, Sarah collaborates with school leadership to ensure adherence to protocols and the implementation of best practices in special education. Previous roles include Education Manager and Education Coordinator at Success Academy Charter Schools, where Sarah focused on student relationships, day-to-day operations, data analysis, and strategic decision-making. Sarah's early experience includes tutoring and curriculum development at The Door - A Center of Alternatives, as well as editorial work for an English department literary magazine. An accomplished academic, Sarah holds a Doctorate in Reading and Literacy from Capella University and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Brooklyn College.
