Paul S. has five years of work experience in the software engineering and advocacy fields. In 2020, they began working as an Associate Software Engineer at Democracy Works and as a Software Engineer at The Marcy Lab School, where they developed a frontend application that allows users to job search using Github Job's API and a full stack to-do-list application using Node.js/Express for RESTful API, PostgreSQL, CSS, and HTML. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer - Frontend at TJM & Co. Media Boutique, where they collaborated with and advised the client’s company to establish a vision for a new website with a Figma mock-up, managed group project deliverables, hosted daily team meetings, and served as the primary point of communication for the client. In 2016, they worked as a Youth Advocate at NYC Coalition for a Smoke-Free City, where they conducted workshops and held weekly meetings with local assembly persons to discuss the mission of the organization and desired outcomes. Additionally, they worked as a Software Developer Intern at Code Nation, where they collaborated with software engineers to write a Google App Script that supported DOE teachers and created projects and client websites using WordPress CMS.
