Claire Discenza

Claire Discenza, Ph.D., is a seasoned scientist currently working at Denali Therapeutics as a Scientist since April 2023. With extensive expertise in gene therapy and optogenetics, Claire has held significant positions at multiple organizations, including Bayside Solutions, CODA Biotherapeutics, and Circuit Therapeutics, where research involved experimental design and implementation in various animal models. Prior to a career in scientific research, Claire gained experience as a freelance science writer and public information officer intern, contributing articles and press releases for notable organizations. Claire earned a Ph.D. in Neurosciences from UC San Diego, with a focused research background in neuroanatomy and electrophysiology, complemented by an undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College.
