Seungyoon Blenda Yu

Seungyoon Blenda Yu is a Postdoctoral Scientist at Denali Therapeutics, focusing on ALS research by investigating key regulators in the stress response pathway related to ALS and other neurodegenerative diseases, utilizing both preclinical and clinical models. Seungyoon's prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California San Diego under the supervision of Gulcin Pekkurnaz, PhD, where the research involved identifying the O-GlcNAcome in neuronal mitochondria and its role in regulating neuronal metabolism. Additionally, Seungyoon worked as a Research Assistant at Dankook University and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, where responsibilities included analyzing oncogenic mRNA 5'UTR and developing new polymer surfaces for neuron culture. Seungyoon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
