Denel Land Systems is a division of the Denel group. It was formerly Lyttleton Engineering Works (LIW - from Afrikaans: Lyttleton Ingenieurswerke) which merged with Vektor Arms. It then became the Systems division of the Land Systems Group of Denel. Today DLS is a diversified high-tech industrial group registered under the South African Companies Act, with the State as the sole shareholder.
