Christopher Gonzalez has an extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Christopher began their career as an intern at The Financial Risk Group in 2013, where they developed models to forecast probabilities of default and built analytics tools to verify bank models. In 2014, they worked as an Analytics Consultant for the Sacramento Kings, providing recommendations on players in the NBA Draft. Christopher also served as a Treasury Portfolio Analyst at M&T Bank during the same year.
From 2015 to 2021, Christopher worked as a Senior Data Scientist at NCSA Athletic Recruiting, where they led the data and operational strategy, resulting in a consistent yearly increase in gross revenue. Christopher developed data science software applications, deployed machine learning models into production, and mentored a growing analytics team.
In 2022, Christopher joined Built In as a Senior Data Scientist/Consultant, where they contributed directly to various projects, including developing a key metric "Anomaly Detector" using tools like Airflow, DBT, Great Expectations, and Python/Snowflake. This initiative helped the company identify deployment bugs and bots more efficiently.
Currently, Christopher holds the position of Director of Data Science and Strategy at Dentologie, starting in November 2022.
Christopher Gonzalez has a diverse and extensive education history. Christopher obtained their Master's Degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin, where they studied from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, Christopher pursued their Master of Arts (MA) in Economics at Duke University from 2012 to 2014. Christopher completed their undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) and Bachelor of Arts in Applied Mathematics and Economics from 2008 to 2012.
In addition to their academic achievements, Christopher has also pursued various certifications. Christopher obtained certifications in Automated Logical Reasoning, Online Learning and Optimization, Quantum Information Science, Operating Systems, Optimization, Natural Language Processing, and Machine Learning from EdX and edX. These certifications were obtained between 2020 and 2022, with the most recent certification obtained in July 2022.
