Simone Hieber

Simone Hieber has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and research. Simone currently holds the position of R&D Software Engineer & Technical Lead at Dentsply Sirona since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Cyfex AG from December 2020 to May 2021, and as a Software Engineer at the same company from January 2018 to November 2020.

Simone also served as a Research Group Leader at the University of Basel from September 2012 to March 2018, and as a PostDoc from January 2007 to August 2012. Simone additionally held the role of Coordinator of SIB PhD school at SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics from 2007 to 2009. Lastly, they worked as a Research Assistant at ETH Zürich from 2002 to 2006.

Simone Hieber has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from ETH Zürich, which was obtained between 2002 and 2006. Additionally, they hold a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics from Michigan Technological University and a Master's Degree in Engineering Cybernetics from the University of Stuttgart. Recently, in 2022, Simone obtained a certification as a Professional Scrum Product Owner™ I (PSPO I) from Scrum.org.
