Sarah Melching

Silber Director Of Conservation at Denver Art Museum

Sarah Melching currently serves as the Silber Director of Conservation at the Denver Art Museum, a position held since March 2008, where Sarah is dedicated to preserving cultural heritage and managing the administrative functions of the Conservation and Technical Studies Department. Previously, Sarah worked as an Associate Paper Conservator for the American Institute for Conservation & Foundation for Advancement in Conservation from May 2017 to May 2023, acting as a Board Member and Specialty Group Liaison. Sarah also served on the Green Task Force for the American Institute for Conservation from September 2008 to August 2010, contributing to sustainability efforts in art conservation. Earlier experience includes owning and operating Pacific NW Paper Conservation Svcs., Inc., from 1992 to 2007, focusing on the conservation of artworks on paper and historic documents. Sarah holds a Master of Art Conservation from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History from The University of Kansas.
