A fifth generation Colorado native, Alan Salazar serves his city as the Chief of Staff to Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock. His career in Colorado public service includes working as the State Issues Director for U.S. Senator Tim Wirth, Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Director for Colorado Governor Roy Romer, Chief of Staff to U.S. Representative Mark Udall and Chief Strategy Officer for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. He also held senior-level positions in Bill and Hillary Clinton’s election campaigns. Alan is a member of the History Colorado Board and has formerly served on the Equality Colorado Board of Directors, as a Public Interest Trustee for the Federal Home Loan Bank Board of Topeka and the Vision Hispanica Leadership program. He also helped found the Colorado Hispanic Agenda. He earned a Bachelor’s in History and Political Science from University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.
