Neil Johnson

Neil Johnson currently serves as Deputy Director for Housing Policy at the Department for Work and Pensions, where leadership involves advising Ministers on the Housing Benefit system's reform and sustainability. Previously, Johnson held the position of Head of International Mitigation and Carbon Markets at the Department of Energy and Climate Change, overseeing key EU emission reduction negotiations and UN carbon market discussions. Additional experience includes leading the policy development for the Social Care Reform White Paper at the UK Department of Health, managing a review of HM Revenue and Customs' powers, and contributing to the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation regulations at the Department for Transport. Johnson's early career included roles at HM Revenue and Customs and JPMorgan Chase. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Management and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bath.
