Annalena Hagenauer

Annalena Hagenauer is the Director at the Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) since September 2025, focusing on economic growth within Dubai. Previously, Annalena served as a Principal at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from April 2019 to April 2025, specializing in strategy formulation, economic assessments, and sustainability strategies. Earlier professional experience includes roles at NERA Economic Consulting as an Economic Analyst, providing expert testimony and regulatory finance analysis, and a position as a Strategy Consulting Intern at PwC. Annalena has also worked as an Adviser for the European External Action Service at the EU Delegation to the UN. Annalena holds an Advanced Diploma in Economics from the University of Cambridge, a Master in Economics and Finance from Barcelona School of Economics, a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management, and a Bachelor of Laws in International & European Law from The Hague University. Additionally, Annalena participated in a non-degree exchange program at Nanyang Business School focused on Financial Economics and International Law.
