Sunil Varma is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the field of petroleum and geology. Currently serving as Team Leader for Infrastructure and Special Projects at the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety in Western Australia since October 2012, Sunil also holds the title of Principal Petroleum Technologist. Previous roles include Principal Research Scientist and Research Team Leader at CSIRO from May 2007 to October 2012, and Senior Hydrogeologist at the Department of Water from April 1995 to May 2007. Sunil has an academic background that includes a Graduate Certificate in Oil & Gas Engineering from The University of Western Australia, a PhD in Applied Geology from Curtin University, and a BSc/MSc in Exploration Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
