Austin Brown currently serves as the Director of the Vehicle Technologies Office at the U.S. Department of Energy, a position held since August 2023. In addition, Austin has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Johns Hopkins University since September 2012, teaching "Transportation Policy in a Climate Constrained World." With extensive experience in strategic planning for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and roles within the White House, including Senior Director for Transportation Emissions, Austin has significantly contributed to climate and energy policy. Austin holds a PhD in Biophysics from Stanford University and a BS in Physics from Harvey Mudd College.
