Richard Schomberg

Richard Schomberg has extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as VP of Smart Energy Standards at EDF Group Corporate since January 2011. Additionally, Richard has held leadership roles at the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) since 1997, including Chairman of the Smart Energy Strategic Group and President Elect in System Aspects for Energy and Nuclear Instrumentation. Since January 2007, Richard has also contributed as a Technology Strategist for the U.S. Department of Energy's Gridwise Council (GWAC). Prior experience includes a professorship in System Engineering at Supelec from 1995 to 2001. Richard holds a Master's degree in Complex System Engineering with a focus on Automation from CentraleSupélec, earned between 1979 and 1982.
