David Douglas

David Douglas is an experienced leader in policy development and project management, currently serving as the Manager and Mine Approvals Coordinator for Resources Victoria at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, where David oversees mining project approvals and leads initiatives for investment attraction. Prior roles include Director of Manufacturing and Industry Development at the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, where David directed strategies to enhance advanced manufacturing capabilities, and Manager of Economic and Industry Insights/Policy at the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions, providing industry insights to support innovation. David has a strong background in mine rehabilitation and coal policy, with key achievements including the establishment of a new regulatory framework following the Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry. Educational qualifications include a Master of Economics and Regional Development, as well as bachelor's degrees in Psychology.
