Michael Black is a seasoned professional in land management and spatial information, currently serving as the Manager of Traditional Owner Land Agreement Implementation and Governance at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action since April 2017. With a focus on supporting Traditional Owners through the Land Use Activity Agreement Reform Program, Michael has spearheaded improvements in systems and processes, external engagement, and the development of a web-based land information portal. Prior roles include managing strategic analysis and reporting at the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, and project management in various capacities at Spatial Vision, RMIT, and the World Health Organization. Michael holds a Master of Applied Science in Geographic Information Systems and a degree in Land Information, Surveying, and Cartography from RMIT University.
