Myles Tooher

Myles Tooher serves as the General Counsel and Executive Director of Legal and Legislation at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, a position held since July 2010. Myles leads the Legal and Legislation Division, providing expert legal advice, managing litigation, and supporting legislative development while ensuring compliance with government objectives. Previous roles include Deputy General Counsel, Project Director, and Principal Solicitor across various departments, contributing to legal policy, legislative solutions, and major reform agendas. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Parks Victoria and Senior Solicitor at the Department of Sustainability and Environment, with a solid foundation in administrative law, environmental law, and project approvals. Myles holds a BA and LLB (Hons) from Monash University and completed leadership programs at ANZSOG and the Victorian Leadership Academy.
