Jarkko Moilanen

Jarkko Moilanen (Ph.D.) has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Jarkko has worked as the Head of Open Data Products at the Department of Government Enablement starting from 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Chair of the Strategy Group at the Open Data Product Initiative, which was established in 2022. Jarkko co-founded and served as the Chief Data Officer of Data Product Business from 2021. Jarkko has also worked as a Global Evangelist for Demola Global, starting from 2017. Jarkko has held positions as a Chief Specialist (Open Data Products) at Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, a Data Economy Advisor at Techie Stories Ltd., and Chief Data Officer at Vastuu Group Oy. Jarkko has also been involved in leadership roles at Platform of Trust, including Chief Operations Officer, Chief Development Officer, and Developer Experience Lead. Jarkko'searlier experiences include roles at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland, where they served as a Senior Advisor for Digital Strategy and as the Product Owner for MPASSid. Jarkko has also worked as the Chief APItalist and Business Development Lead at APInf Oy.

Jarkko Moilanen is currently pursuing a Doctor of Science (Econ) degree in Information Technology at the University of Jyväskylä, with an expected completion date in 2025. Jarkko completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 3D printing/Peer Production at the University of Tampere from 2010 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Soc.Sc degree in Political Science, Hypermedia, and Pedagogics from the University of Tampere from 1997 to 2010. Jarkko also has a background in International Relations and Strategy from the National Defence University from 1994 to 1996. In addition to their formal education, Jarkko Moilanen has obtained various certifications in data architecture, data modeling, data quality, data science, data governance, data leadership, machine learning, and board membership.
